Through three selected works: Javasari, Jakarta Premium Outlet, and Richmond Type 15 Show Unit of Metaphor Interior showcases a body of work that bridges culture, lifestyle, and innovation, affirming the studio’s identity as one of Indonesia’s leading interior design firms.
Design as Storytelling: The Soul of Javasari
Located in the heart of Kebayoran Baru, Javasari Bakery is more than a patisserie. It’s a tribute to Central Java’s enduring charm. The interior captures a sense of heritage and craftsmanship, where each material and motif tells a story.
Traditional gebyok carvings become a centerpiece of cultural expression, balanced with limestone, rattan weaves, and patterned tegel flooring—each carefully chosen to reflect the region’s artistry. The result is a modern colonial atmosphere that feels familiar yet refined: a place where design bridges nostalgia and contemporary taste.
Every detail was approached with sensitivity to proportion and rhythm, ensuring that Javasari’s narrative of warmth and elegance remains both timeless and relevant in today’s urban context.
Public Luxury: Jakarta Premium Outlet
At Jakarta Premium Outlet (JPO), Metaphor redefines the language of commercial space design. As Indonesia’s first international-standard outlet destination, JPO needed to balance brand-driven functionality with architectural character.
Metaphor responded by curating spatial experiences that flow between open-air corridors, shaded canopies, and social nodes, turning a shopping complex into a lifestyle destination. The design strategy integrates tropical sensibility with structured geometries and visual continuity, creating an environment that feels both international and distinctly Indonesian.
From façade articulation to the plaza’s furniture and wayfinding, every element is designed to support seamless navigation while maintaining a premium, resort-like atmosphere, one that reflects the evolving lifestyle of modern consumers.
Modern Living Refined: Richmond Type 15 Show Unit
The Richmond Type 15 Show Unit in Cibubur showcases how thoughtful interior planning transforms residential spaces into aspirational living environments. Here, Metaphor emphasizes luxurious modern living through spatial openness, dual ceiling compositions, and a palette of natural tones.
The master suite, defined by geometric ceiling details and soft neutral hues, evokes understated elegance. Visual coherence between the bedroom, transparent walk-in closet, and en-suite area enhances a sense of flow and privacy, balancing function and emotion in a seamless living experience.
Every layer, from lighting composition to material junctions, is designed to express balance, proportion, and comfort, embodying Metaphor’s holistic approach to spatial design.
