Bringing out Balinese charms and local heritage onto a luxury boutique hotel, Maison Aurelia.
As an interior design in Jakarta driven to provide comfortable stay for their guests, Maison Aurelia hotel was designed to provide the right canvas as a culturally driven hotel. This philosophy then drove us to create a design that resonates with their value. Located in Sanur, Bali, the strong culture is vivid and the main principle is to combine the local culture and heritage that is strongly influenced by colonial design and décor.
The lobby of this hotel design calls for attention to the eye where it enlists more decorative features than other public area. We can see the strong style of heritage as presented in the custom metal leaves, serving as an art feature. This artwork separates the waiting area and reception. The element is complimented with the rustic feel of terracotta tiles chosen to accentuate the lobby ambiance. Dominance of wood elements can also be seen in the custom-made furniture in most of the public area. A combination of rattan and wood is brightened up with the usage of fabric and patterned cushion on the sofa and chairs. The detailing and wall paneling demonstrate the intricate design and level of attention being put onto Maison Aurelia area.
Upon designing hotels, we pay attention especially for the bedrooms. Details on the moulding and paneling can still be seen throughout the space. To add luxurious touch, carpet is used in the living room of the spacious 54 sqm suite room. On the table top, marble adds elegance on the wooden furniture. Altogether, the design elements are incorporated to bring out the luxury and comfortable feeling of Colonial and Balinese vibes.
