Hotaru Shabu Panen Tower Senayan: Contemporary Japanese Restaurant Interior in Jakarta

Hotaru Shabu Panen Tower, Senayan presents a modern interpretation of Japanese restaurant interior design in Jakarta. Inspired by Japanese values of harmony, balance, and minimalism, the space blends traditional elements with a contemporary architectural language.

Clean lines, layered timber structures, and a restrained material palette define the atmosphere, creating a space that feels authentic yet modern, refined yet welcoming.

The project explores how traditional Japanese architectural elements can be thoughtfully reinterpreted within a contemporary restaurant interior.

Bringing Japanese Simplicity into Contemporary Design

The first floor opens with a bright patisserie area framed by layered timber structures and lattice detailing. At the center of the space, a central patisserie counter anchors the layout and acts as both a visual and functional focal point.

Natural light filters through large grid windows, softening the warm wood tones and neutral palette. The open layout reinforces a welcoming and balanced first impression.

Moving further inside, the dining area transitions into a warmer and more intimate setting. Booth seating, timber partitions, and soft indirect lighting create a composed and comfortable atmosphere.

A water-inspired mural flows gently across the surface, softening the structured panels and bringing a quiet sense of balance to the space.

Elevated above the main dining level, the second floor presents the BBQ dining experience in a refined semi-private setting. Textured surfaces and layered material contrasts establish spatial definition, while ambient lighting enhances the warmth of the materials and the overall dining atmosphere.
