Taliwang Bali – Jakarta

Serving Balinese and Lombok specialty dishes, at this moment Taliwang Bali restaurant has 4 outlets in Jakarta: WTC 2 Sudirman, Emporium Pluit, Pacific Place and Grand Indonesia Mall. If we’re not mistaken, another outlets are coming soon in Senayan Park, Bekasi and Pondok Indah too.

It has been a while since the last time we visited Taliwang Bali restaurant. This restaurant is designed by one of well-known interior design indonesia. Recently me and Mr. Jajan revisiting the restaurant, this time we took proper photos and ordered quite a lot so we can share more thorough review on the blog for your reference.

We visited Emporium Pluit mall on the 4th floor. The store interior combines modern design with a few traditional ornaments. Metaphor Interior really shows its class as a famous interior design Indonesia. Love the fact that they play traditional Balinese instrumental music, it gives the store a nice Balinese ambiance. FYI, all menu contains no pork and no lard.

While waiting for your order, you can enjoy complimentary crackers for free.

Sambal Platter IDR 17k
For extra yummy sensation, we highly recommend you to order the sambal platter which includes Sambal Matah Bali, Sambal Mbe and Sambal Bajak. You can enjoy it with the free crackers or even eat it together with other dishes.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6196″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Ubud Lush IDR 32k
Refreshing combination between kiwi and lychee, sweet fruity and refreshing with generous amount of kiwi in it.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6197″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Es Kuwut Denpasar IDR 32k
Refreshing coconut drink with Balinese brown sugar for unique sweet sensation.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Nasi Bali Mbok Jegeg IDR 67k
Balinese mixed rice with a bit of everything, super festive and fun to eat. It consists of shredded chicken, Balinese egg, serombot, satay lilit, Balinese sambal, and sambal matah. Judging from the picture below, we believe you can imagine how tasty it is, each ingredient has on point seasoning and flavor individually and all of them complement each other nicely.

Bebek Goreng Ubud IDR 98k
Honestly we didn’t expect the fried duck here to be this good beyond our expectation! It is served with rice, three different kinds of sambal and urap sauteed green bean. Instead of dry crispy type, Taliwang Bali’s version of fried duck is more on the soft tender meaty one with a bit of crispy texture on some parts. It’s deep fried beautifully until golden brown with amazingly tasty savory umami flavor on the duck meat, so good we’ll 100% reorder it again next time.

Nasi Ayam Bakar Taliwang IDR 67k
Spicy Level: (1) Mild – (2) Medium – (3) Hot
If we have to pick 1 MUST ORDER menu, that would be Nasi Ayam Bakar Taliwang. As the name suggests, Taliwang grilled chicken is their specialty menu. It is basically Lombok’s famous grilled chicken with Taliwang sauce served with plecing kangkung & Taliwang chili sauce.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6201″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

This menu is DA BOMB YUM!! The chicken is super delicious with on point seasoning. It has amazing grilled aroma in it, fall off the bone easily, fully marinated with nice savory plus subtle sweet seasoning and nice spicy aroma. You can choose the spiciness level from 1 to 3. SOOOO GOOD, we finished the chicken in seconds. Highly recommended!

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6202″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Nasi Ayam Sasak IDR 69k
One of Mr. Jajan’s favorite menu that happens to be the restaurant’s signature. It is basically fried chicken drenched in special sauce made of tomatoes and red onion for nice fresh kick. We gotta be honest that this menu is not for everyone since the sauce has strong shrimp paste (terasi) aroma typical Lombok style but if you love terasi, you’ll enjoy it. Unique and tasty. FYI, the chicken is served with a plate of rice.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6203″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6204″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Sate Lilit Bebek IDR 60k
Minced meat skewer here is available in duck or chicken meat. If we have to compare, the chicken version has more tender meat texture while the duck one has more more characteristic in terms of aroma with more dense texture.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6205″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Sate Ayam Plecing Denpasar IDR 38k
One word, WOW! Yazzz this is another MUST ORDER!! Chicken skewer with signature spicy plecing seasoning and charred grilled aroma, too good!

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6206″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6207″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Es Rujak Serut IDR 27k
Mr. Jajan’s perfect sweet ending, assorted fruit salad with Balinese sugar and ice. It has sweet, tangy and hint of spicy with subtle aroma of terasi.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_single_image image=”6208″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Overall, happy to say that Taliwang Bali serves great tasting dishes with generous portion, nice flavor and reasonable price. We’re glad to have re-visited Taliwang Bali and have been reminded of its taste. We enjoyed it so much we can see ourselves visiting often.
